We have developed a Journey Management service called CHECKMATE with checkpoints along the Northern Corridor and other distributed network roads in Kenya. We also have checkpoints in Uganda at Nakalama and Tororo.
Our checkpoints provide the following services:
Using GPS/IVMS tracking services, we monitor driver behavior and performance between checkpoints.
On arrival at a checkpoint, drivers undergo a performance review process where they are observed for compliance and mandatorily tested for alcohol levels to ensure fitness.
Drivers are required to take mandatory rest of at least 15 minutes for a 2 hour drive and/or 30 minutes for a 4 hour continuous drive at each checkpoint for purposes of fatigue management as they undergo Driver Toolbox Talks.
Drivers are requested to point out any hazards noted between the previous Checkpoint and the current Checkpoint for purposes of sharing safety information with other drivers en-route.
