Journey Management

We have developed a Journey Management service called CHECKMATE with checkpoints along the Northern Corridor and other distributed network roads in Kenya. We also have checkpoints in Uganda at Nakalama and Tororo.

Our checkpoints provide the following services:

Using GPS/IVMS tracking services, we monitor driver behavior and performance between checkpoints.

On arrival at a checkpoint, drivers undergo a performance review process where they are observed for compliance and mandatorily tested for alcohol levels to ensure fitness.

Drivers are required to take mandatory rest of at least 15 minutes for a 2 hour drive and/or 30 minutes for a 4 hour continuous drive at each checkpoint for purposes of fatigue management as they undergo Driver Toolbox Talks.

Drivers are requested to point out any hazards noted between the previous Checkpoint and the current Checkpoint for purposes of sharing safety information with other drivers en-route.

Checkpoint Officers check and confirm driver details and status of the truck whether loaded or empty against the journey plan, the Delivery Note, and the authenticity of the Cargo.

Vehicles are inspected for compliance before release and Fleet owners are informed of any observations that could compromise safety for appropriate decision making.

In case of an Accident or Incident, Checkpoint Officers move to the scene on behalf of fleet owners to provide rescue services, initial Incident/Accident Investigation reports.

We provide scheduled road patrol services on behalf of fleet owners and report on non-compliance or any other issues that negatively affect safe operations.

Our Checkpoints are road safety training and information centers for drivers.
